"What is your reason for looking into working for yourself?

I have been thinking about the reasons that I am pursuing working for myself a lot lately.  I currently work two part time jobs outside of the home.  I work from 7:30 am until 12 pm on Monday through Thursday and 7:30 am until 2 pm on Friday in the computer lab at the college that I attend.  I also work from 3 pm until 8 pm at a distribution center that manufactures products for GNC.  As I mentioned before, I also attend school part time.

Right now I need both of these jobs just to make ends meet.  I have missed out on so much time with my kids over the years, because I have always had to work.  My kids are now 17 and 12.  My daughter only has one year of high school left, and then she will be leaving home for college.  Even though I have always tried to be an active parent, work has caused me to miss out on a lot of things over the past 17 years.

My main reason for working so hard to build a home based business for myself is the ability to be there for my kids more.  When I build my online income enough to supplement my computer lab job, I am going to quit my second job.

I would like to have more time for my kids and future grand kids in the future than I have in the past.  I also got engaged on Valentine's Day and would like to have time to enjoy life with my partner.

These are the things that motivate me to keep going when I get discouraged.  I hope that all of you reading this will think about the reasons that you started your own businesses whenever things get hard.

I have been working for other people for 15 years now. One thing that I have learned is that when I am not working, I am not making any money. I have to punch a time clock and am paid for the hours that I spend physically working.

Don't quit before the blessing.

I have been associated with so many work at home opportunities and home business that I can not keep count.  Some of them were a waste of time, but a lot of them were great opportunities.  I guess a lot of people want to know why I have jumped around from business to business if I came across so many good ones.  The reason is the same as it is for most other people in the same situation.  We often quit before the blessing. For some reason, when it comes to work at home opportunities we expect to see instant results.  We sometimes forget that building an online business takes time, patience and hard work just like any other business.  We think that if we place ten online ads today, we should have a hundred orders tomorrow.  This is not the case. We have to understand that a person may see an ad ten times before they ever decide to visit the website.  And even then, they may have to continue seeing that ad and visit that site a few more times before they decide to make a purchase.  It is all about being consistent. If you are consistently working and promoting yourself and you business, you will eventually see the results that you desire.  It pays to network and socialize with others.  It is also important to treat an online business just as you would any other business.  I have had to set a schedule for myself and treat my business like a job.  If you choose to work your business here and there whenever you feel like it then you will never reach your full potential.  With this being said, I hope that everyone is having a great Monday, & I wish you all much success.
